Vinyl + Splash = Good Times

Fully Booked, Red Nimbus, Vinyl on Vinyl, and Comic Odyssey launched its "Vinyl + Splash: The Ultimate Collectible and Comic Convention" event last night ( November 26, 2011 ) @ Fully Booked, Bonifacio Hi-Street.

Tons of comic book and vinyl toy junkies were rounded up last night in one room. Jizzus the room was fucking loaded. Rare and new comic book covers, artworks, toys, stickers, pins, shirts and other merchandise were sold last night. Young and old people were smiling in unison with their bag of goodies. Kinda scary, huh?

After going around in circles, me and two other hoodlums went to the record store downstairs in search for good compact discs and art books. We found all kinds of shit last night. From good pre-owned cd's and goddamn rare street-art books. Loads of motherhood definitely happening in Fully Booked.

The Book of Skulls

Jeff Soto's premiere book "Storm Clouds"

The branch of Fully Booked in Hi-Street is definitely loaded with the "Ammunition" when it comes to new and pre-owned records from Japan. From New Wave, Metal, Punk Rock, Hardcore, Rockabilly, Pop Punk, Ska, and all the other genres in between, you name it, they got it. Well, not really, but I think they're getting there.

LOOT

1) Saw this Obey poster inserted in Shepard Fairey's "Supply & Demand" book.
2) Stole this Obey poster in Fully Booked because i'm a shameful asshole just like that.

Toki Doki & Alien pins

Even though I was sick and my schedule was flawed as fuck, still it was a good, clean, and fun Saturday night with friends. I guess everybody had fun except for the Moon.

Peace By Piece

Went to Divisoria to get some cheap paint supplies for Cavity's first year anniversary event this coming Sunday at Cavite.

The usual trip with a fuck ton of people roaming around to buy some good finds. Street-vendors and laborers stationed all over the place hoping to find some money just to get through the day.

Color Selection

Lacquer Paint - 55.00php a pop ( wholesale price ).

Flat White - Cream - Flat Black

Talked to 3 Ex-Convicts that are now living totally different lives as street vendors, overheard 2 whores talking about their Korean customers last night and saw 1 Police man taking advantage of his authority and asking for dirty money ( lagay ) from the street vendors.

20 Years of Pushing the Industry

The group of Filipino illustrators that are collectively known as Ang Ilustrador Ng Kabataan ( AngINK ) celebrated their 20th year anniversary at the Ayala Museum Lobby last November 21, 2011. The artists show cased their new and old works for various stories that have been published in the last decade.

There were a lot of people who came to show their love, support and respect to the illustrators and for the rising children's book illustration industry in the country.

This night made me feel great about my childhood. There's an aura in the place that made me want to delve back into my good old care free days just playing, browsing and reading story books almost everyday. The memories are so vivid, me sitting at the porch late in the afternoon with a couple of story books at my side and having a fuck pile of my favorite snacks on the other side. Yeah, those were the good old days.

"Soaring"
Maurice Risulmi

"Sometimes We Become Afraid"

"Build Our Castles"

"We Rise With The Sun"

Young or old, girl or boy, rich or somewhere there hanging in between the seams, didn't really matter that night. All of the people were just having a good time and having their dose of happiness.

After satisfying our epic visual appetites, me and two other hoodlums went for a food trip to satisfy our epic meal appetites.

First meal at Subway was okay. The Tuna Sandwich made me goddamn full already.

As for the second meal at Pho Bac, the Mixed Sea-Food Noodles just got the best of me.

SATISFIED HOODLUM

Saw some good artworks. Talked to good people and good friends. Ate good food on a good Monday night. What a great way to start the week.
